Comments: Not sure. Either way the council are aware that we require an area big enough for a main pitch a second pitch for youth football, mini soccer pitches, winter facilities for all sports, ie: Astro and of course a clubhouse. We dont have a preference just want to get started! Its been well documented that the current area is owned by not only the council but the church so getting both to agree is a sticking point, however the option to move will negate all that. |

Comments: Nice! Sounds good, do you think that your more likely to renew grant as opposed to move to a different area? |

Comments: Hi Anthony, I can tell you that the discussions with the council are going well. The options are a long term extension on the lease where we are or a new location in Stowmarket. Without a long term lease we cannot move forward as grants from the FA and various sporting councils wont allow us to apply. Once we have them...we are ready to go! In the meantime we continue to raise all the money we can and put that away in a separate account from our operating money to ensure we have some monitory starting point. Finally, as we know that even if a lease extension happened this week the building and improvements would take a few years, so we have also raised money (and with the help of small council grants) to update our function hall and over the coming weeks you will see new flooring, furniture and ceiling to help our hiring opportunities. As things progress we will update everyone on our website. Cheers. |

Comments: You all may or not be aware that Great Yarmouth FC supported this cause last season and will be doing again this season for this charity in the wearing of a pink strip for away games. Appreciate times are hard for everyone at present but having gone through treatment myself over the last few months for breast cancer and with October being the month for Breast Cancer Awareness have asked myself 'can we do a little bit more'. Not many families now are not affected by cancer in some form or another.[i] FC Clacton back in July 07 had a 'Smartie Appeal' to raise money for a study into infant death, which asked for people to eat a small tube of smarties and then fill with 20 pence pieces which myself and a few other people from GYFC participated in for such a good cause. If anybody would like to help in this way it would be greatly appreciated, if you would like to make a small contribution in other ways will have a collection jar in the hospitality room at the club which is where I can be found on first and reserve team games. Will post this on forums I have access to but there are some I cannot access so would be appreciated if you could put this on your own forum. |

Comments: Sorry to hear that Payney sustained a nasty injury in your match against Walsham yesterday. Hopefully it won't prove to be anything too severe and he'll be back in the team shortly. |

Comments: Hello...played for the gold's in the late 90'swhilst living in the area...probably for around 6 month, an excellent laugh. Played for both the 1st team but the reserves under Paulie D was different class, good side but a great laugh!!! I gained a stone in weight thru excessive drinking, tore my hamstring & never played again after the age of 27!!! Great fun, great people & would love to visit one day over the coming season. All the best...love from Nottingham. |

Comments: Thanks Mary for your kind comments. We hope the guest did not spoil your enjoyment. We too noticed this and it was dealt with swiftly on the day. I hope you noticed all the staff in yellow jackets, well with the sun hot and the booze flowing, they were there to deal with such incidents. It all went off without a fuss and I think the gentleman concerned was very embarrassed. |
