Notes:
Road to Wembley starts with a WIN!
By Barry Felgate: Brantham.

This turned out to be a game of two halves. Brantham were the better side in the first half while a revitalised Stowmarket team were the much better side after the break. Stowmarket had an early chance when Proctor broke through but Munson made a good stop with his feet. Brantham's Sean Gunn shot from just outside the area and the Stowmarket goalkeeper did well to hold the shot. In the 11th minute the ball was played across the Brantham area and Horsfall shot wide when well placed. Brantham took the lead in the 25th minute when a good three man move ended with Lee Grimwood hitting home from close range. Proctor should have equalised when put through but Munson made a great save to deny him. Brantham piled the pressure on and Kieran Lawler saw a great snap shot hit the bar and minutes later David Grimwood beat the keeper only to see his shot hit the bar as well. The second half saw Stowmarket take the game to Brantham and they equalised and deservedlly took the lead with two well taken goals by James Graham and Wayne Proctor. Still more drama to come when Brantham felt they should have had a penalty and they did a few minutes later after a rash challenge. Up stepped James Long whose fierce shot was well taken by the keeper and it is Stowmarket who go through to the next round. This was the sixth game that Brantham had gone down by the odd and their luck must change soon.
